The road of society-oriented services is led through the avenues of NSS, YRC, RRC, Eco Club and Consumer club. These service forums working actively throughout the year which organize various social awareness programmes  and do involve in constructive activities that are fruitful to the society.

Youth Red Cross (Mission)

Is the youth program of the Red Cross. Its mission is to educate children and youth in the spirit of Red Cross and provide opportunities for directing and harnessing their energy and idealism into worthwhile activities within the framework of the organization

 Aim:

  • An Awareness on the care of their own health and that of others
  • The understanding and acceptance of civic responsibilities
  • To enable the growth and development of a spirit of service
  • To foster better friendly relationship

Objectives:

  • The programme is as possible include something under each of the following heads
  • Blood Donation Camps
  • Road Safety Campaigns
  • Visit to Ashrams(Orphanages) & Home for Mentally Retarded
  • Tree Plantation
  • Campus Cleaning
  • AIDS Awareness Programme & Rally
  • Participation in the Cancer Rally and Tobacco control measures were some of the important items of work carried out by the Students of the University Departments.
RRC

RED RIBBON CLUB

  • The Red Ribbon foundation created in 1993 with the objective of imparting education about awareness and prevention of HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) and AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome).

GOAL

  • To reduce the occurrence of new sexually transmitted infections (incidence), particularly HIV, among youth.
  • Equipping youth with correct information on HIV/AIDS Prevention, treatment, Care and Supporting.

OBJECTIVES

  • To increase awareness on sexual reproductive health and HIV/AIDS.
  • To impart skills on communication, self-protection, negotiation, and effective group interaction.
  • To prepare youth as peer educators/agents of change by developing their skills on leadership and team building.
  • To encourage blood donations.
  • To serve as forums for students to participate in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
Eco Club

ECO CLUB

Eco club is a platform on which we get the knowledge on environment. It offers programs and activities to encourage others to reduce pollution, plant trees, and more. Eco Clubs play an important role in creating environmental awareness amongst the future generation. Eco club or green club is a voluntary group which promotes the participation of students in learning about, and improving their environment. A green club is a means by which students and youth can organize themselves to learn more in this issue, and also take action to improve their immediate environment.

 

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

o  To protect planet Earth by creating environment awareness
o To conserve the natural resources and the natural environment
o To create an eco friendly environment
o To maintain cleanliness in and around the college campus.
o To conserve energy management of solid waste materials
o To teach others about what we have learned to plan, organize and implement programme and projects for rain water harvesting

ACTIVITIES OF ECO CLUB

1. Motivate the students to keep their surroundings green and clean by undertaking plantation of trees.

2. Promote ethos of conservation of water by minimizing the use of water.

3. Motivate students to imbibe habits and life style of minimum waste generation, source separation of waste and disposing the waste to the nearest
storage point.

4. Educate students to create awareness amongst public and sanitary workers, so as to stop the indiscriminate burning of waste which causes respiratory diseases.

5. Sensitize the students to minimize the use of plastic bags, not to throw them in public places as they choke drains and sewers, cause water logging and
provide breeding ground for mosquitoes.

6. Organize tree plantation programme, awareness programme such as Quiz, essay writing, painting competitions, rallys, nukkad natak etc. regarding
various environmental issues and educate children about re-use of waste material & preparation of products out of waste.

7. Organize Nature Trail in Wild Life Sanctuaries/Parks/Forest areas to know about the Bio-diversity

NSS

National Service Scheme (NSS) was launched during 1969, the birth centenary year of Mahatma Gandhi, in 37 universities involving 40000 students. NSS is an extension dimension to the higher education system to orient the student youth to community service while they are studying in educational institutions. It is being implemented by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.

 

Aims and objectives of NSS

  1. To understand the community in which they work;
  2. To understand themselves in relation to their community;
  3. To identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem solving process.
  4. To develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility;
  5. To utilize their knowledge in finding practical solution to individual and community problems;
  6. To develop competence required for group-living and sharing of responsibilities:
  7. To gain skills in mobilizing community participation;
  8. To acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitude;
  9. To develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters;
  10. To practice national integration and social harmony;

UBA

The conceptualization of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan started with the initiative of a group of dedicated faculty members of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi working for long in the area of rural development and appropriate technology.

Main Objectives:

  1. To engage the faculty and students of Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) in identifying development issues in rural areas and finding sustainable solutions for the same.
  2. Identify & select existing innovative technologies, enable customization of technologies, or devise implementation methods for innovative solutions, as required by the people.
  3. To allow HEIs to contribute to devising systems for smooth implementation of various Government
