Career Counselling and Soft Skill Development
Career Counselling is given through the Placement cell that focuses on training the students towards fulfilling their career needs during their state of prospective job employee. The Placement Cell plays a significant role in inculcating career-oriented within the students with proper career planning, training, and recruitment. Furthermore, the Placement Cell arranges Industrial visits, Internships, and Field trips to widen their excitement about gaining practical knowledge. Besides, the Cell organizes various respective programs with external resource persons to enable the students to secure versatility in global knowledge and to develop their soft skills such as Presentation, Time Management, Assertiveness, Teamwork, Group Discussion, Public relation, etc.
Women’s Cell
The Women’s Cell is constituted to help, maintain a harmonious atmosphere in the institution. The cell has been working to raise awareness of gender equality, Women’s health, security, women’s rights, etc…
Bridge Course and Orientation
The Bridge Course is aimed to act as a buffer for the new entrants, with an objective to provide adequate time for the transition to Arts & Science courses. During this interaction of the bridge course the week with the faculty and their classmates, the students will be equipped with the knowledge and the confidence needed to take on bigger challenges as the future of this country.
Objectives:

Aim
At making the Arts & Science smoother for the entrants, the Main objective of the program is to provide ample time and a platform for the transition of students from school to college. In spite of having very good grades in the Higher Secondary Exam, students need to have exposure to Arts & Science. Hence bridge course proves to be the best opportunity for students to adapt themselves to new social and academic environments. Smoother for the entrants.
Orientation Programme
This realm consists of college hierarchy, privileges to be availed by students, general Rules and Regulations, etc. In this session, the Management people and non-teaching staff members are introduced to the students. The respective in-charge staff explains various privileges available to the students, and the entities that are strict to be followed by students. Anti-ragging measures and other welfare measures are instructed to the students. Students are sensitized about various scholarships available to them.
Language lab
The department of English is striving for the enrichment of the language and providing in-depth aesthetic knowledge and an eagerness to appreciate the language in its ingenuity to the students who come here to avail themselves of the course. A number of students from rural and tribal areas come for graduation. Department has the latest configured computers with all necessary software installed on it. The laboratory with the state-of-the-art audio equipment to aid in imparting language skills. The laboratory is effectively utilized by students for various self-enhancement and soft skill development activities.
Aims:
The aim of the Language laboratory is to provide students a platform to enhance English language skills, and communication skills.
Objectives:
To equip the students with good communication skills.
To prepare them for interviews and future job environments.
To train the students in the art of conversation and discussion.
Importance:
Laboratory proves beneficial for those students who are poor in the use of the English language. Students from rural and tribal areas who are generally weak in English can have sufficient ear training in the language lab. The confidence-building among students for interaction and presentation in English. It is useful to enrich students’ language learning experience.
Yoga and Meditation
A certificate course in Yoga is offered by the University as a part of the curriculum, thereby the institution has made it compulsory for UG final-year students. The indoor stadium is used for practicing Yoga. The Yoga practice is done effectively to inculcate moral and Ethical values.
Personal Counselling
Higher Education students are in the stage of a transition period of Adolescence, and they are ready to grasp and develop themselves simultaneously in various aspects. Hence, it is important to guide them constructively toward life and career planning. Subsequently, it is necessary to promote them to anticipate, plan and react optimistically to their developmental problems and transitional issues with integrated thoughts and behaviors. The students are to be enabled to reduce stress and its negative impact, thereby, they can develop their interpersonal skills effectively. Such constructive responses let the students become aware of their selflessness with an analysis of strengths and weaknesses. Altogether, the students will be able to make constructive decisions beneficial to themselves and to the nation.
With all the above-mentioned perspectives, Sri Adi Chunchanagiri Women’s College, Cumbum has had a Counselling cell with a team of faculty members. They take care of the students’ mental health by providing Counselling to issues related to Education, Family, Personal, Behaviour, Interpersonal relationships, etc
Grievance Cell
The College has a Grievance Redressal Cell headed by the Founder’s Secretary to see the grievances of students. Grievances can be ventilated either in person or by a letter dropped into the suggestion box placed in front of the Principal’s room. If a grievance is valid then it is properly redressed. Regarding the students’ grievances, the Principal & the Management meet every month to maintain a transparent rapport between the Management and the students. Their proficient and valuable suggestions upgrade the students’ morality, which trims down their depraved habits and traits.
Guidance for competitive examinations
The Institution offers versatile opportunities to enable students to get through their competitive exams.
Library – Thiruvalluvar Digital library has been sufficiently enriched with books and materials for competitive exams which facilitate the students to prepare feasibly for exams.
Communicative English –This Certificate course offered by the Institution enables the students to face competitive exams and job interviews successfully.
Awareness Programmes – Various programs are organized with respect to competitive exams that let the students be aware of the channels and methods to get through the exams
