LIBRARY RULES & REGULATIONS
- Library will be kept open from 9.30Am to 6.00 Pm.
- Identity Card is compulsory for getting access to the library
- All students should scan the ID card in the Library, before entering.
- Personal belongings are not allowed inside the Library.
- SILENCE & CLEANLINESS should be strictly maintained in & around the Library
- Do not tear pages from the books.
- Books and Periodicals should be replaced in proper places after reading.
- Within the stipulated period, the books have to be either returned back or further be extended.
- Borrower’s tickets are not transferable.
- If the due date falls on holidays, return can be done on the following working day without fine.
- Reference books such as Dictionaries, Encyclopaedias, Year Books, Journals, Projects reports, Textbooks with a marking REFERENCE etc., Will not be issued.
- All the books should be returned before the examination.
- 1per day will be collected for the books which are not duly returned or extended.
- Books are to be handled very carefully. If a book is lost by the student, she shall replace the book (same title, author and edition) or shall pay double the cost of the book as fine.
- Students are not allowed to enter the library, during the class hours.
- Any marking or writing in the book is strictly prohibited.
- Members should not use Pen drive in Digital Library.
- Misbehaviour in the library will lead to cancellation of membership and also attracts serious disciplinary action.
- While leaving the Library, Lights, Fans and AC must be switched off.
- The Librarian May Refuse Students To Loan Books Without Assigning Any Reasons Thereof.
- All students should return their library books to obtain “NO DUE CERTIFICATE” from the library for getting Hall ticket.
- Similarly the staff members who intend to leave the college should settle all the dues and obtain “NO DUE CERTIFICATE” from the library.

Issue System
Books will be issued on presentation of the library card along with the smart card. Students are instructed to check the books while borrowing and they will be responsible for any type of damage or mutilation noticed at the time of return.
Book Lost
If the books are lost, then the borrower shall replace the books of the same edition or latest edition or pay double cost of the book after getting permission from the librarian.
Care of Library Books
Students are require to handle the books/ Journal very carefully; marking with pencil, writing or highlighting , tearing the pages or mutilating the same in any other way will be viewed very seriously. In such case reader shall be held responsible unless these are brought to the notice of the library staff at the time of issue.
- Reference Section: This section contains encyclopedia, dictionaries, biographies, atlases, and other books, which can be consulted in the reference section only. The books from this section cannot be issued.
- Research Section : In these section Dissertations/Theses, Journals, General magazines and News Letter are available. The latest issues are displayed on display rack and other previous issues are arranged in the drawer. Bound volumes of periodicals are arranged in wooden class Alamara

Thiruvalluvar Digital Library

A repository of knowledge housed with —- books, —- journals and magazines, and with further enhancement of exclusive reference section and University questions bank. The Digital Library is contemporarily equipped with Inflibnet virtual library access and other modern digital amenities to access online materials easily. Hence, such feasible provisions enable the students to utilize the learning resources available throughout the global scenario and enhance their global competency.

Software Automation
The General library has been digitalized with the privilege of Inflibnet virtual access, thereby has been named as Thiruvalluvar Digital library. Since been provisioned with Inflibnet, the students and staff can easily collect required e-materials for their learning and reference purposes. The library has been equipped with fully automated software, and hence the stack maintenance, cataloguing, etc have completely been digitalized with respective software for easy work process. Besides, the students’ entry also be done with ID card access using Barcode scanner. Thus, the complete library process is performed using the specific software and the details of respective software is given below.
